Is it normal to carry at least 1 knife at all times?

I carry 3. One fixed blade boot knife that I made clipped to my boot. One sheeple friendly pocketknife with a >2" blade (Case small toothpick). One large (4.5") locking blade tactical folder (Cold Steel Spartan). I happen to be a disabled (PTSD) infantry veteran and now, a part time custom knife maker. I am 29 years old.

I carry a knife everywhere I go to avoid altercation. I'm a small girl, was never allowed to learn self defense, with a bad history... I don't feel safe without a knife, because I know there are a lot of people who are gonna be stronger than me out there. Of course, you only pull a knife as the last possible recourse, weapons are never the first option.

But there's nothing wrong with this man carrying knives, especially if it's what he does for a living.

If you live in USA that may be normal but if you're from England like me that is most definitely not normal. Regardless of whether it is or not you still shouldn't carry a knife. You're an idiot.

You obviously like knives, like other people like guns or other weapons. It's a personal thing, however carrying them around unnecesarily is not only dangerous, but is likely to invite excessive violence if you ended up in an altercation.

I think you stand to use a knife in an unwarranted situation and pay a much higher price than if you only had your fists; like more jail time.

and what do you actually need to carry them for? unless you are a chef at work then i dont see why you would need them.

  • What happened to the times people didn't need weapons to fight and defend themselves? People are cowards today.

I think guns are more cowardly than knives. There were times when a man was judged by skill with a blade, and I feel fighting was more honorable in those days. With all the people packing guns these days, a knife seems like a sad defense indeed.

Not to mention, say you're a small person or just not very strong... A knife could save your life if you become overpowered. But weapons should always be the last resort.
