Is it normal to collect fake wedding rings?

This habbit started because I work with my hands, and I volunteer at an animal shelter. I used to wear my wedding ring set everywhere. I didn't seem to take into consideration that gold can get scratched or dented. When I lost weight and got my ring resized, it was like brand new again, so I didn't want to get it all dirty and scratched again. I was tempted to not ever wear it, but I want people to know I am married, and I like the look of my diamonds, i don't want to wear a plain band. Instead, I got a fake ring set. It's not something dirt cheap from Clairs, it is solid silver and cubic zirconias, it was about $60, and looks similar to my real one. And, I am not ashamed to tell people it's fake if they ask (even though most people think it's real).
Anyway, I am nothing like those bridezillas on tv that can't be satisfied. I like the looks of many styles of rings, and it's hard for me to pick one as my favorite. Since the fake rings are affordable, and silver tarnishes after a while, I just sort of got in the habbit of continuing to buy them if I see one I like. I still wear my real one if I am not washing dogs or digging around in the dirt or changing my oil, and I have three fake ones now. Do other women wear fake rings too sometimes?

    Fake? eh?
Let me see.. You are under arrest. You have the right to remain silent, everything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law.

Could you please at least tell me what are the charges against me?
Animal torture and possession of stolen goods. Get in the car.
    But,
    GET IN THE FUCKING CAR!

I don't know why this is only @ 32% normal. It seems entirely practical to me. That's much more clever than what I do I just don't wear mine at all...

Fake like the ones you can get in a gum ball machine?

Why don't you wear your ring around your neck? It would save you the hassle. Also, fake rings can be dangerous. Fake silver can cause a green ring around your finger:/

No. I said in the story, "not like dirt cheap from claires." They are solid sterling silver, and cubic zirconias. The ones I get cost around $60. I haven't seen a green ring on my finger yet, and I really don't care to wear it on my neck. I like it on my finger.

Sorry about that, I was reading it rather quickly:P

I don't wear rings and I'm not married. But, I think most of them wear the actual ring itself.... But to each is own. Though, wouldn't they be wondering why you have so many "wedding rings"?

          Haha it's ok.
You know, I would think so. The people who know me though don't seem to think it's abnormal. I tell people at my work, and the people at the shelter who know me, why I do it, and they all seem to think it's a good idea.

Plus, one of my co workers lost her wedding ring, and another co worker had her diamond fall out. So, both of them also said something like "maybe I'll just buy a fake one to wear to work." They were the ones who gave me the idea lol. But they never did buy a fake one like I did.
