Is it normal to consistently hurry other people?

Is it normal for a person to rush others, even if there is no danger of being late? I carpool with my roommate, and today I lost my temper with her because she is always nagging me to hurry up. I was getting ready to jump in the shower, and she said "you better hurry up. We only have an hour." For me, an hour is more than enough time to shower and get dressed.
I would be able to relate to her concern if we were frequently late, but in the majority of instances we are 5-10 minutes early.
I don't understand why she is always afraid that we will be late in the absence of any good reason to feel that way and it gets on my nerves because it creates an atmosphere of panic. When I am rushed, I forget things and the difficulty of getting out the door in the morning is amplified.
More importantly, I don't think it's normal to rush others when there's plenty of time.
What do you guys think? Is it normal to always be in a hurry and to goad others into sharing your frenzied state of mind?

I totally feel you. You need to talk to her about it.

Ugh! I used to hate when my mom used to do that to me. I was in the 7th grade, and my mom would sometimes offer to drive me, and she'd wake me up... but then nag me the whole time as I was in the process of getting ready that we ONLY have an hour. One morning, I remember freaking out on her, and I told her that we have plenty of time and I couldn't understand why she was bugging me to hurry up.

I feel ya, though. I hate when people rush me, especially when I know I'm never late for anything.
