Oded here, absolutely not normal. I am a doctor of the mind yes, however do know a thing or 2 about Anatomy. You really need to get out of that habit. Get a bite guard if you haven't already. Dental procedures are 4 figure medical expenses. Do yourself a favor and get out of that habit.

    Oded....out

Grinding and clenching your teeth is very normal, but can lead to harmful consequences. I actually have arthritis in my TMJ because of grinding and clenching my teeth. There is also the possibility that you are rubbing the enamel off your teeth too. If you know that you are grinding your teeth I would recommend you see a specialist to get mouth guards when you sleep or during the day.

Though this is very bad for your teeth, this is normal. I do it, though I know it's not good for me. So, try to stop grinding your teeth. :)
