Is it normal to count your bites when you eat and steps when walking?

Whenever I eat I always have to make my bites add up to either 7 or 3, or 7 and 3. For example, if I'm eating a sandwich ill divide it in 7 in my head and make sure I eat the whole sandwich in 7 bites; if its a little bigger I will take (technically) 10 bites but I don't count it as 10 - in my head I have to think of it as 7 and then 3... Is this some sort of OCD? I've been doing it ever since I can remember that I do it automatically now. I didn't think it was weird until I told my bf and he said it was really strange that I did that. Also when I walk I always count my steps: count up to 7 then reset and count the next 7 steps and so on... Does anyone else do this?

its only OCD if it cant be stopped, and it causes you distress, but yeah, that could be a form of OCD.

Does sound a little OCD but could just be considered quirky. I count the gulps when I drink water so I don't think it's uncommon.

It is a major form of obsessive compulsive disorder. This is not good to obsess over things like this and if it is really bad to where it is taking over your life and affecting you everyday then you should get some help. I hope it all works out for you. :)

I used to do stuff like that but it wasn't OCD. It was more of a challenge in my head but if I didn't make the number, I didn't stress over it. I'd count everything, also.
