Is it normal to cry on nights because of not having a pet

i use to cry at nights when everyone is on sleep because i doesn't have a pet, and on some nights i even hug my blanket which is pretending to be my cat.
i love pets i like to pet pets of my neighbors, most of my relatives have pets i like to pet them too
but my parents are scared of pets
😭and even they had pets when they where young
I am not young anymore but I still love pets a lot..

I hope that you can find an animal companion soon. No offense, but your parents sound rather dreadful to my ears as if I weren't a modern person of the church going variety I would certainly be a follower of the Ancient Egyptian cult of Bast! Cats are... well really it's hard for me to express it in words, what I feel for my feline brethren.

For you in you desperate, and sorrowful circumstances I shall try to express what I feel, but it only truly feels right in Spanish, and I know so very little Spanish. Please forgive my ignorance.

I know exactly what you mean Rose, mi gato fue mi corazón tambien y cuando lo abrazaría mi sentía completo.

He made me a believer in animal-human friendships (that aren’t based solely off the animal wanting food.)

My cat is always by my side, he's thirteen years old so it seems like his favorite activities are eating, cuddling and sleeping. I struggle with depression, and anxiety, and if it weren't for this little guy I probably wouldn't want to get out of bed. For whatever reason he always wants me to go into the livingroom, so we can sit on the couch together. He will meow nonstop, and expect me to follow him to the living room. My cat is very loyal, loving, and affectionate, but the flip side is that he is demanding. He he was young he would want to play fetch for what seemed like 30 minutes at a time.

Affectionate cats are the best. My boy liked to herd people around too, I tried to teach him to play fetch but he was a big British Blue Shorthair and if you know that breed you’ll understand why that didn’t work.

Don't be disheartened you can always get one from a pet shop, they are your first point of contact if you ever want one.

    Or you can adopt one.

Those are the two options you can go to my friend.( Not saying it in a bad way ).

Not to mention you can always change your parents mind.

Buy a fancy mouse. It's like a 50$ for a cage, the mouse. And all the accessories plus a 3 month supply of food.

Did you have a fancy mouse too?? the only downside is their cage gets stinky real quick, they are also prone to illness both physical and mental.

          "Fancy" mouse?

Is it a special type of mouse or something? We just have regular pet mice.

And I want all of them.

Lol, "fancy mice" from my understanding is just a distinction of pet mice from wild mice (Fancy mice basically look like miniature rats, whereas wild mice are a bit weirder looking). Also fancy mice, like cats, can be bred to have unique coats like Curly or satin fur, siamese point markings, etc. they even have competitions I've heard. I'm not sure if mine was actually 'fancy' since I just bought her from the snake food section. hah

              Ahh...interesting. Never heard that term.

One of my best friends briefly bred mice. Her best mother escaped and got pregnant to a wild mouse before she got caught and apparently the babies were all insane. Interesting how breeding clearly played a bit part in how easy it was to handle genetically half domestic/half wild mice compared to fully domestic ones.

She also had rats. I was always so envious haha.

I love mice because of thier inteligence. You can teach them tricks and feed them scraps as a treat.

Not to sound like a sociopath but if you need to move and no one will take said fancy mouse, you can always release it in the wild. Sure it probably wont survive a month but you are indirectly feeding another animal, perhaps street cats or hawks.

Ok so what kind of pet do you want? Like dog, cat, fish? Why don’t you try to compromise with your parents? Like maybe they wouldn’t mind if you had a snake but definitely wouldn’t like a dog. Just speak to them and see what you can do to get what you want without upsetting them.

Yeah I was thinking this, start small... get a pet fish or lizard, something like that doesn't smell, doesn't make sound and stays in its tank so it will have zero impact on your parents and their home, so there isn't much argument against having it. Should be a more manageable compromise.

Then you might be able to work your way up. Play your cards right and you could have your cat one day.

When people make a big deal about being scared of dogs, like all dogs, I have a hard time respecting them, and tend to generally not like them.

I do have a girlfriend who's not much into animals, and says she is allergic, so can't be around them much. She also says that animals are skeevy 🙄 which annoys me, and kinda makes me lose respect for her. I myself have pretty bad allergies, but I take Zyrtec, and Flonase, because my quality of life goes down a lot without animals in it.

One day when we were hanging around together, I was helping her move, and she has to leave to run an errand. Well, when she comes back she finds my bored ass sitting outside in front of the apartment petting these two really well behaved, but enormous fawn colored pitbulls. Now my friend didn't say shit, but the look on her face was truly priceless! 😁

Fond memories of my friend's ghetto apartment days. 😊

I will say a prayer for you, surely God can touch your foolish parents hearts. Now let's just hope that they are not so obtuse, and generally daft as not to feel it. You deserve the love, and companionship of of a good cat!

da only acceptable reason fo a nigga to cry during that specific timeframe would be when there are times when da wind is so cold that yo body froze in bed if you just listen to it right outside da window

You are ridiculous. It is pathetic to feel this way as an adult and you need to grow up. If you’re that desperate for a disgusting smelly cat then move out like a functioning adult and have one in your own house.
