Is it normal to cry so often at the dumbest of things

I don't know if it's just my personality or whether I need to see a doctor. I cry VERY easily, if a cat is being cute, I'd cry uncontrollably. If a song gets 'emotional,' I cry. If anything vaguely reminds me of my childhood, I cry. If some random stranger cries, I cry. You get the gist. I have nothing against crying, but sometimes I could be just hanging out with my friends and singing and I'd just have to hide to cry- I'm not sad or anything, I'm just sort of overwhelmed with emotion. Am I normal?

Is this a new thing or is this how you've always been? If the former, have you started any new medication, or gotten off any medication (I was pretty emotional for awhile after getting off of SSRIs since I had been emotionally numb for so long, then the emotions came back really strong)?

    Simple. You're just weak.

Never met anyone who cries that easily (that's not a small kid), but it's not necessarily bad

    • It's not that I cry a lot- mostly I just feel emotional and slightly tear up. I can control it but I just have to wait a moment for it to pass. I'm not immature- at least, I don't think I am- nor do I cry if I'm denied anything, screamed at or for whatever reason a small child may cry.

I don't really know but I've never thought of it as a childish trait, just as something due to hormonal imbalance or something periodic. Idk.

I've never even met a small kid that does that.
