Is it normal to deny the saying 'jack of all trades....'

Now, for a long time my dad did tell me that be firm on a certain thing (career-wise) & don't confuse your hobbies with ambition. I will swear to God on this one but I would like to deny it, because for a reason I have been quite good at pretty much everything (well, except for sports haha). I have been good with my studies, singing, calligraphy & many more things! Now, I am studying for a great job in the future which also happens to be my prime ambition. Now the question is, 'is it ok to concentrate on my other hobbies say singing & drawing at a professional level once I have a good paying job?'

Jack of all trades, master of none. It really is a far more negative cliche than it appears. But personally, I enjoy knowing a little about a lot.

Sure, it's always fine to focus different hobbies and interests outside your career choice. It's wonderful to have time for them. Too often people get so wrapped up in the day to day that they forget to nurture their creative side.

I think it's sexist. It should be All Trades Individual.

Hmm. I think being a well-rounded human being with a lot of useful skills and fun hobbies sounds a lot more enriching than having a high-paying job, but you can decide your own priorities.
