Is it normal to dislike being hugged?

I don't like to be hugged by anyone. Even when I go on a date, I end it with a handshake. I despise having to hug people. Is it normal?

At the end of a date do you give a limp wristed dead fish handshake or a bone crusher?

It's neither normal or abnormal. Some people are very touch feely where as others do not like anyone touching them. xx

Yes, it's normal, and people have no right to tell you it isn't.

I have a friend who hates hugs too. Those are the people that need them the most so I make an effort to hug him a lot.

You are just horrible. You don't deserve them as friends. If someone wants to be left alone, leave them alone.

So you are saying I don't deserve someone who won't give or take affection? And I am horrible for that? Do you even logic?

I think you DEFINITELY need a hug lol.

No, because I know people who hate being touched for valid reasons and because if I don't want to be touched, then I don't want to be touched and you should respect that.

No its not normal. Hugs are great. Unless its from someone creepy. Did something happen to you to make you feel that way? Did somebody sexually harass you?

I love hugs from people I like, not just any ole body. People who are too touchy feely kinda freak me out but people who are completely non affectionate freak me out too. I think "normal" is somewhere in the middle.

I think you probably have some psychological issues (no offense meant) that have shaped you this way. And I think most people (including myself) would be pretty awkward about a handshake after a date. I personally would take it as the person being uninterested.
