Is it normal to dislike your pet hamster?

Well I got 2 hamsters about a month ago, and they were super cute! There was one I called brownie and the other I named teddy. Everything was fine for the first week until teddy got territorial and killed brownie. :(
brownie was the nicest out of them both and I kept teddy anyway. So lately hes just been plain annoying to me. He found ways to sneak out of his cage and run around the room. Then when I'd put him in a big plastic container so he couldn't escape he'd annoy the sh*t out of me all night by scratching the sides of the container trying to escape.

Is it normal to despise him or am I just insane??

    Get him another home! hamsters kill each other when caged together! Didn't anyone tell you that? It's not his fault and you're cruel to keep him in a closed plastic container! Please re home him ASAP!

    Perhaps you should have learned a bit more about hamsters before getting them as pets? You should NEVER EVER have two Syrian hamsters near each other or in the same cage. When they get older, they get territorial and violent, and can end up fighting, and killing each other. You could have prevented it if you knew. Also, the person at the pet shop should have told you? I got my pet hamster after researching pretty much everything about them.

      Why do you like hamsters so much? Hardly a very satisfying pet to love, I mean do they even show you any love or affection in return?

    It's probably natural instinct. I understand that you miss Brownie. Either forgive Teddy, or give him away. Just don't kill it.

    I agree with the others. Teddy didn't do it to be mean, he's just an animal. Try to think of his positive traits until you can forgive him. And take his Cage out of your room!!! Lack of sleep isn't helping!

    Spend more time with him and forgive him, don't kill him. He is a living creature, as was Brownie. If you can't find it in your heart to forgive him, take him to a trusted animal shelter or a pet store that you know will take care of him.

    i can understand the hard feelings since it killed your other hamster. I love my cats but sometimes they annoy the crap out of me especially when they run around and are noisy in the night and they throw up on the carpet all the time :( But i still love em and they are worth the mess and stuff. Try to forgive teddy, he is only a hamster, not ultra smart and really doesnt know better! maybe keep the container elsewhere at night, maybe so he doesnt wake you up at night.

    Well you could execute him for his crimes, but I would recommend banishing him from your kingdom by letting him go. Hamsters are nasty little cannibals. Most will eat each other and especially their young if given a chance.
