Is it normal to dream of murder repetitively?
SO and I share an apartment with a friend and their girlfriend. The friend's girlfriend is the youngest in the group, being 19. She has many good qualities to her and is very talented in some ways, but she frequently attempts to correct people on a subject she knows little to none about (we all know at least one person who does this).
All of us cringe every time she pushes obvious false information onto someone's well-informed argument (she does this with guests too), and the other party is usually too shocked to really continue on with her. She takes the silence as a personal "win," I guess.
Unfortunately, she knows that I'm a psych major. She takes this as a challenge.
One day, she sits down next to me, handing me some biology book. Smiling, she says "Biology is the only real science, really. Everything else is useless or pseudoscience. You should change your major."
Pretty much laughed it off and mentally deadpanned lol.
But...I often have slightly morbid dreams, so most of them aren't too much of a surprise if they come. Later that night, I had one of these dreams. I dreamed that I had walked up to my friend's girlfriend, spat on her, and stabbed her in the kidney several times while my SO was trying to hold me back. She writhed and covered her face, shouting "Why?! Why?!"
Woke up strangely calm, not too bothered by the dream. I know it's conducive to one's health to talk about these things, not leaving them suppressed. Too scared to tell this even to my SO though, which I think is reasonable. He's known for labeling people as "crazy" and "sociopathic."
But, I still don't feel like it's too uncommon for people to have these types of dreams.
Any ideas?
