Is it normal to eat alot and still be skinny?

for the past 5 years ive been eating around 2500-2800 calories a day. yet i still have a bmi of 17.5. im 5"11 and 126lbs. when i started i was 5"10 and 105lbs. that would be a bmi of 15. how is this possible? i eat 4 big meals a day, and i stuck to it for half a decade, and im STILL considered anorexic. i dont know what to do. i physically cannot eat any more per day.

No, so long as you are eating good amount, you are not having anorexia or eating disorder. In human body, metabolism includes anabolism ( positive ) and catabolism ( negative). In catabolic state, those people will lose weight. The causes of catabolic states include illness ( unlikely not your case ), overactive thyroid, strenuous exercises. People with type 1 diabetes could have weight loss

    Seea Dr,

One thing that can cause you to eat and eat and be thirsty yet gain no weight or even lose weight is diabetes.

Get all the obvious things out of the way first with blood tests and Dr's visits, but it may just be your age (if you are young) or your genes?

    Take Care :)

I am exactly the same! In my family we have a really high calorie burning process if that is what it is called.

Have you ever been denied health coverage from an insurance company due to the fact that the company thinks you have an eating disorder, when really, you eat 7 meals a day, not counting snacks in between, and just so happen to weigh enough to get stuck in a tree when a gust of wind so inclines you? I have, and it sucks. In fact, I'm even smaller than you!

Words can't describe how jealous I am!

I weigh 220 lbs and I have to practically starve myself so I don't g back to up 300 lbs.

I'm hungry all the time. It must be so nice to be able to eat whenever you want.

I eat a lot too and i'm fairly small and skinny (5'8'' and 64 kg). You should try doing exercise, muscles weighs more than fat so it should help you put on a few pounds
