Is it normal to eat sentient creatures?

In many parts of the world it is sometimes commonplace for Humans to eat Sentient Creatures.
From my other posts, it is clear that there is confusion as to which species are sentient and which are not.
I am interested in knowing your feelings on this subject.
I will provide a list ( should you request it ) of the sentient creatures we share this planet with. Many might surprise you.

Oh by the way, I forgot to say earlier when you called me a lemming...

When the food runs out, they migrate. They do not, however, commit mass suicide by leaping off cliffs, a myth compounded 45 years ago by Walt Disney's White Wilderness film - which showed lemmings apparently going to their doom

Thank you for the information. I am only human, and I do make mistakes. They would have corrected me, but lemmings are not Sentient, so they can not communicate with them. Some do migrate in large numbers and some drown when crossing large bodies of water. Question is, where would you migrate to?

Yummy. I eat sentient beings all the time. They're tasty. Maybe one of these days, if I can get away with it, I'll try some human. I won't kill anyone, it'll just be a random dead body or whatever.

Perhaps, this is a bit unrelated, but I've notice that in "society" they refuse to eat animals that have shone "intelligence" and are "visually appealing". They try to protect these animals and say it's wrong to eat them, but when it comes to animals with supposedly no "intelligence" and "visual appeal", they promote the consuming of them. For instance, people won't eat dolphins because of their "intelligence". You wouldn't eat a swan or a bird-of-paradise because of their beauty ,etc. Consuming of cows, chickens, pigs, etc are widely promoted. Why is this?
Are humans really that shallow? Perhaps, I'm left out of the equation, though. Since, I'm allergic to all forms of meat, I'm a veg head.

i honestly think every living thing except plants and fungi and the like are sentinent in some way. humans eat everything, and lots don't care whether whatever it is was sentinent or not.

by sentient creatures i pressume you mean animals and birds that can feel pain just like we do. well, i think its normal, thats what nature engineered us to be, predators, we feed on our kills, and i think its normal. what i dont consider normal is torturing the animals before eating them, or growing them in bad conditions before killing them for food, or buying more then we can eat thus throwing away the bodies of those creatures that made a "sacrifice" (involuntary ofcourse) so that we can feed. no animal or other being should ever be killed for fun, to make clothes(considering the many alternatives for clothing materials that exist in our age), or just to make food tastier (like beating dogs to death before cooking them so their meat tastes better, a practice thats going on in some asian places). also i think hunting and fishing as a sport is a gross barbarism. are you going to eat that thing that you killed? no? then the killing its not justified, be it a fish, a bird, a deer, a dog or whatever.

      Your initial presumption is incorrect.
Sentient means: A Creature that can Percieve the Future.
I feel that your intuition is generally in the right direction, that you are Ethically minded.

Pigs could be considered sentient. Bushmeat (monkeys) are technically illegal to eat, but people in developing nations still do it.
