Is it normal to enjoy messing up the pitches in songs?

I find it enjoyable mostly because it sounds funny and sometimes it sounds like little girls singing the actual songs maybe it's just me. Today I went messing up the pitches on most of my favorite songs ( which by the way don't mind me it's worth a chuckle to listen to it with the modified pitch. )

Just look up whatever your favorite song is + Nightcore and you'll see. It's basically just the song but pitch-shifted up

I actually wish I could get them right, lol. I feel like I used to be able to, but now it is much more difficult. Singing is not a strength of mine at all, and I usually turn the volume up when I sing in the car so that I don't have to hear myself, lol.

I was told once that your voice is much easier to control than an instrument, but I always felt the opposite. I never know exactly what sort of weird pitch is going to come out of my mouth, but found it much more predictable when playing the violin in my younger years (though learning just the right finger placement in the beginning can be a bit challenging).

I've done that. Sometimes changing the pitch up, or down slightly does make the song better. Normal.

I do hate chipmunk versions of songs tho. Overdoing it on the editing ruins the music.

  • Hell yeah that's fun, I like singing along to like Disney songs and the musical Wicked; "you're gonna be pah-Ah-AH-pew-lar!" 🤣
