Is it normal to fear switching off the tv?
When I am alone on my own and watching TV, all is well. However, when I have to switch off the TV and turn out the light I feel suddenly fearful and terrified, as if my loneliness is magnified out of all proportion. I feel incredibly vulnerable when the TV goes off and the silence falls like an axe. My imagination goes into overdrive, I imagine vampires and ghouls everywhere. This only happens in a certain deserted house in the countryside - almost everywhere else, I am fine.
