I constantly fear lyme disease and rocky mountain yellow spotted fever but it's also the ticks themselves. They are sooo ugly and disgusting looking!
My uncle was staying at the Stanley Hotel in Colorado (it's supposed to be haunted). Anyway, they allow dogs at the hotel and he got a tick that gave him one of those fevers, I don't remember which, but he was sick for months and months and almost died. You have every reason to be afraid of ticks.
They should be feared. I had one embed itself in my left breast 5 years ago, pulled it out and it itched for two years. I then had the cyst it created surgically removed and thought my problems were over, but no.. Two years later it began itching again and causing sharp pains in the affected area. In fact, it was hurting the other day. My boob will never be the same...
