Is it normal to feel a celebrity death is life changing?

I heard of the death of Leonard Nimoy and I felt worse than I have felt in more than a decade. I have lost all of my great-aunts an uncle and aunt. I feel as though I can see no future. I know that life will go on for me, but Mr. Nimoy's death has affected me in a surprising manner. I am distraught, and I do not know why....

Back in the day , I was so sad about Hendrix and jim morrison. I seen them at Woodstock , then poof! they are gone. Also Audrey Hepburn dying made me sad. More recently was sad about spock and also nora Ephron. her books made me laugh.esp the I hate my neck one.

you get no closure with suicide and you are always wondering what was so terrible in their lives that they had to do something so final.

I've been sad about Leonard Nimoy all day long. I remember when Joan Rivers died last year; my sister told me about it, and was in tears within a minute after she told me. I hope this doesn't sound too corny, but it can help to pray for his grieving family. Please know that you're not alone.

To this day I am angered and resentful of John Lennon's murder. What the world might be like today had he survived.
Others, like Robin Williams often brought laughter when I was down, or introspection when I really needed it, from his serious roles.
Nemoy has been a part of my life since high school, representing a cast that took my imaginings to the visual reality of the small screen. A friend's parents got a color TV and the first show I came over to watch in color was Star Trek.
The great celebs are our constants. No matter where we are, what mood we are in or who we are with, we can put on a movie, TV show or comedy routine and go back to a better time and place, if only for a few minutes or so.
Thank you Mr. Nemoy, Mr. Williams and all the others who have created moments in our lives we remember fondly.

It's not "abnormal" but it's odd to me unless if you "grew up" with these people and have gotten close to their characters.

But I wouldn't feel any kind of way if they died. Just like how people were making a big deal about how the comedian committed suicide....Robin Williams.

I suppose it's the death of what they represented as well.
