Be happy that you were at least trying to help it. And that he got the love of an owner at least for a while

At least you tried to take him to the vet. But maybe he was too sick and he wouldn't have made it even if you took him sooner. Sorry for your loss, and don't worry. It's not your fault.

It's not your fault he caught a sickness. We all feel guilty that we didn't spend more time with someone or something we loved when we had it. That is why you always hear these snippets of advice about taking people for granted and spending time while you can, you never listen to it until you've been through it.

Take this as a lesson for the future and try to stop feeling guilty for things you have no control over. It will just make you miserable.

you would have only complained about the bill from the vet anyway. vets love a dying pet. and they dont feel guilty

Yes it's normal. You probably believe you could've done more, I would've felt the same way. But you took them to vets and gave them shots, which showed you care. Hey dude you took stray dogs and cared for them, many people wouldn't even bother to do that.

The vet would only have asked you about symptoms and ran some tests, but by the time the tests came back the pup would have died anyway.

This is awful for you but please remember that you did your best for both dogs.

I'm so sorry for your loss.

If she died overnight, I really don't think the vet could have done much to help her. Instead of thinking about "I could of", just think about all the happiness you brought into their lives.

  • Sorry for the loss but if it wasn't for your kindness, those dogs probably would have died a long time ago. Im sure the one that passed away were very happy to spend their remaining days with you :) RIP puppy

It's normal to feel guilty about it. But it really wasn't your fault. With time you'll get over it.

Your dog probably caught something from the two strays that you took in and it killed him. That's what happens when you take in stray dogs! You live and learn!
