Is it normal to feel intimidated by cats

Even as a cat lover I find it slightly unnerving when a cat looks directly and unflinchingly into my eyes. It feels weird like they're trying to hypnotize you or challenge you to a staring contest or something. Although they're probably just being curious.

Intimidation is a cat's secret weapon. It's telepathically telling you to feed it.
