Is it normal to feel like such a loser

I think you would feel better if you gave some of yourself to someone less fortunate. I don't want to be preachy or weird but you could help someone that might be in in a very bad place with just a little bit of your wealth or time. I am sure you both will feel better after.

The fact that you judge yourself based on those things is what actually makes you a loser. If you ever listen to people talk about material shit in that way they sound like cringey idiots lol.

Its normal, I experienced the same shit, went through my lil depression faze. I drove a car that looked like it had fallen from the sky for years. I had a terrible living situation, no ac, no plumbing. All my colleagues had boats and shit and I was still broke. I felt jealous and but now that things turned around I think it really helped me. Its hard to explain really but going through hard times made see the glass being half full.

You're making the classic mistake man, you're comparing your life to everyone else's. You're seeing what you don't have instead of being grateful for the things you do have. I have a small house and an older car. I love them both. I also have a huge plate of brownies my 80 year-old neighbour just sent over. Ooooooh, man...I'm happy as a pig in shit, right now. There are people living in cardboard boxes on the street and you're whining because your coworkers have boats and you don't? Come on.

Look, I lost both my parents at once a few years ago and didn't leave the house for months. Nearly all my friends still have one or both parents, many still have grandparents. I'd fall apart all over again if I let that get to me. You can't live your life around how good others have it, man. You just can't do it. Besides, that's all material shit. You have no clue what's going behind closed doors. Their lives might truly suck. Be happy with what you have.

Sounds pretty normal to me, going by my experience. Chances are that not everybody you know would qualify as "better" than you, but it's totally understandable that you would feel that way.

The thing is that not everything is about money or what you own, but just about being happy with what you have and how your life is.

Like, would you want to work a job you possibly hate, just to get more money so you can afford things you might not even care for or need ? Or rather live a life you're happy with, even if it means earning less than some others ?

but yeah - life can also be incredibly unfair sometimes.. unfortunately that's part of life :/

The saying "comparison is the thief of joy" rings true.

Besides, material things don't matter in the grand scheme of things and aren't what really make people happy. Look at how miserable some celebrities who have the best and fanciest of everything are, to the point that they're addicted to drugs and alcohol and some even end up committing suicide. Things are really just things, and having fancy things and a lot of money is not necessary to live a happy and fulfilling life.

Also, having a pretty nice house and a couple of cars that are in pretty good condition is actually a luxury compared to what much of the world has. There are people in third world countries who don't know when their next meal will be.

I say count your blessings. If not having as luxurious of a life as the next person is the worst thing that ever happens to you, you will be luckier than 99.99% of the world's population.

You're absolutely not a loser for having a job, a home, and multiple cars. A loser in my eyes would be unwilling to do anything for themselves and wanting to sponge off of others, or trying to make everyone's life as miserable as theirs.
