Is it normal to feel like you've let your family down?

I'm in my early thirties. My boyfriend and I have been together 10+ years. We live in an apartment and have discussed marriage and children, but we'd be happy with our without.

All of my cousins are either married, have children or both. My sister has been married and divorced with no children.

Lately though, I feel like I've let my parents and grandmother down by not being married, and not giving them any grandchildren. They've never said anything or pressured me about it, but I still feel this way.

Is it normal to feel like this?

I think its normal to feel this way and being that you see people around you in their life. and perhaps feel pressure. Do what makes you happy and no one can live your life but you. Be encouraged!

Yeah, it's normal. Currently, I am in the opposite situation. All of the girls in my family were OMG single teen Mommies on welfare lolololol baby buuuuump sooo cuuutteee! And I'm the only one that has had the sense not to get preggers so if I did before finishing college (yes, I am married, with a job and my own place, unlike them) then having kids would make me more of a failure than I am now. No worries, though. I've got an appointment for an IUD. If it works then unless I get it removed (yeah right!) I'll have finished school LONG before I've had kids. Let's switch families for a while. It feels pretty awesome having the only clean uterus in this bunch. My Mom totally doesn't give two shits about grandkids. She has three children, she'll get 'em from somewhere.
