Is it normal to feel sick driving to and before work in the morning?

Every morning before work I feel an extreme anxiety or panic come over me. Is this normal or not? What should I do?

If your job sucks, then yes.

If you know of any anti anxiety medication that doesn't have negative side effects for some people, let the world know: bet you don't in which case that's ridiculous advice

I can't say I do know of one that has no side effects; the good news is, you no longer even care :/

I'm not sure what you mean: that anyone on anti-depressants wouldn't care about the negative side effects? Well that's not true: I checked out a UK forum on one particular anti-d my gp had prescribed and people who'd been on it for years and couldn't get off were very well aware of the negative effects of the drug, including huge weight gain, which I can't risk as I'm already on the verge of diabetes & trying to get it down.

Depressed people who are prescribed prozac certainly notice the adverse effects on their libido's.

I've decided daily meditation is a lot safer than any of these so-called anti-depressants because in my opinion they often increase depression or introduce other negative symptoms.

You're being flippant about a very serious issue

Sorry but I kind of joke about everything on here.
In my case it's true, I actually don't care about the side effects any more. Maybe that's not a good thing but apathy is a big part of my life now. Ideally this person should change jobs or do yoga or something but sometimes one is depressed because of brain chemicals( as in my case). If meditation works for you that's good but I find it difficult to focus and sit still.

The apathy is what I hate about anti-depressants, but if you don't mind it that's fine.

Did you know you can change your brain, including the chemicals, without medication? It's called neuro plasticity. Google if interested, I find it fascinating.

Meditation is hard at first, but I really believe worth perservering with: too many people believe they have to start off with 1/2 an hour or a full hour at a time, but you can start with a couple of minutes (set the alarm on your mobile phone) and work up to whatever you want.

Anyway, whatever works for you and all the best

  • I do hate my job. It's not so much the drive itself rather than the anticipation of another shitty day

Do you deal with a lot of traffic in the morning? Is it in a town where some of the drivers are insane? If so, then yep, normal
