Is it normal to fiddle with soft cloth with your fingers?

I was curious of others who "Play corners" or Fiddle.

I am over 60(F)now and actually found a thread on here of others who rub labels. It is a VERY OLD thread over 6 yrs old. This person thought they were OCD and wanted to stop.

My mom would be 90 if she were still living and did this her whole life. We called it " Playing corners". I also have this habit of folding either my pillow case,bed sheet, edge of a shirt I am wearing, restaurant napkin etc. into a point and rubbing the tip of my finger over it. Never cared to stop it. It is relaxing I guess. Beside my husband, my grown kids and a few family members, no one knows.

I guess I was lucky since my mom did it, I never felt weird. Once I went to babysit two kids. A boy about 10 and his sister 6. As I was reading them a bedtime story the boy got embarrassed that I noticed he was playing with the edge of his pillow case. I said," Oh You fiddle too??" He was shocked to find out my mom and I did it too! Told him if wasn't anything to be ashamed of.

So looking for a new thread of fiddlers.
