Is it normal to flap my hands or rock when i'm excited or stressed?

I try not to do it around other people or in public but sometimes I can't help it and people will look at me weird. nobody else i know seems to do it. is there something i should do about this? i also used to hit myself when i was excited or upset.

I do it, it’s a very common stim in autistic people.

It's called stiming. It's basically a repetitive, self soothing action. Like a little tic that feels good to do. It's common in people with autism, but it's nothing to be embarrassed about. It's not like it's an aggressively weird hand motion.

Explains why school shooters seem to miss with so many of the shots they take.

It’s hard to fire a gun whilst flapping your hands wildly 🥴

Depends on how crowded the venue is. Bet you could get shit done if you semi auto flapped at a nickleback concert. Anyways, zip it, cat. You're more autistic than Jenny McCarthy's delusions about a twice vaccinated child.

          I see.

That is a good one I think?

Now if you’ll excuse me I’m going to hand flap rock some shit.

Such an autistic response. I can feel you gnawing on my phone screen from here

Actually I’m watching adventure time. But that is also good that you have a phone screen.

I have a habit of rocking back and forth, or side to side while standing (though I've pretty much broken that habit while standing). I also kind of pop my wrists and twist them (though I really need to stop that!). I think we all have minor quirks, and if that's the worst thing that's "wrong" with us, it's all good!

It's not normal if you are neurotypical.
