Is it normal to forget (for a few seconds) how to spell "character?

I am a 72 year-old male, work out vigorously, eat healthy. Tonight I forgot, for a few seconds, how to spell "character" and I'm an excellent speller. I've had normal aging glitches before, like forgetting names or not being sure which day something happened earlier in the week, but nothing like this. I left out the "h" and sort of panicked, and was then trying to put the "h" later in the word. Also, I think my brain was wanting to spell "caricature." I immediately took some on-line spelling and memory tests and did above average and superior on everything. Oh, I'd had one glass of wine with dinner a little earlier. Should I be worried?

You probably shouldn't be worried, it's okay to have a brain fart every once and a while. If you find that it happens consistently, maybe then you should be worried.

Gawd, I do stuff like that all the time, and I'm 18! Your spelling/memory sounds pretty impressive to me.

Well everyone forgets something at some point. Whether it be for a split second, a few seconds, hours, day, weeks, months or even years. I wouldn't presume it is some sort of mental deterioration, but rather a natural aspect of the human mind.
