Is it normal to freeze dry your pet?

I saw a news story about people who pay thousands of dollars to freeze dry or taxidermy their dead pets. Then they just keep them around forever I guess, to "lessen their grief." I think the whole idea is creepy. I think it is NOT normal, am I wrong?

God that's creepy why would you want your little playfull dog that you've had for 10 or so years to be stuffed and put in your living room and used as a coffee table

I do it. I love going to sleep at night knowing that my precious Polly is staring at me even if her eyes are lifeless. Sometimes I cuddle with her while watching tv.

Isn't there a movie where a guy stuffed his mom when she died then created a seperate personality and acted out her life.

Personally, I find it disgusting. But when I think of people who have mental issues, I can see where it would could come in handy. It's like those realistic babies they make for mothers who've lost their child. So while some may see it as heartbreaking to even consider, it could be the only way others can cope.

  • If that's what they want to do, it's their business. It's not as abnormal as people who let their kids go hungry and without medical care so they can buy dog food and pay vet bills.

I've seen that before and I have to say I find that incredibly creepy. I mean we all have ways of grieving but could you imagine freeze drying one of your human loved ones and having them standing in the corner? And I mean wouldn't it worsen the grief even more...I mean it's like toying with yourself into thinking that your pet is alive and in reality its not....

It's horrible. I can't understand having the ones you love stuffed and in you face all day
