Is it normal to get an erection when you are riding a horse?

This may seem completely un-realistic but this is exactly what happens. As a young boy, I often took an interest into animals, particularly horses. Once I got too the age of 15, I realised that my love for horses was stronger, and that I should persue a career either handling or riding a horse. As I got older, I've started to noticed that I am getting erections when I am riding the horse. Is this normal? I don't know if this makes any difference but I am a homosexual man aged 24 now. This is becoming a problem as I wouldnt be able to fulfill my dreams if everytime I was riding my horse I became erected. If anyone has any tips that they can give to me, I honestly would really really appreciate it. 'Thanks in advance.

    These ladies are right. Erections aren't purely a sexual response. I got a hard on driving a tractor once. And i didn't want to plow the tractor........pun intended.

    Yes it's perfectly normal. I get erections when mounting - sitting astride - opponents in jujitsu. The friction on your genitals, perinaeum and anus all cause stimulation. This has happened to me since I was a kid play fighting and horse riding. Boys who sat astride of me also usually had erections as the bulge could clearly be seen resting on top of me when they were mounted on me. So yes it's common.

    Horses are the type of animal that connect to the rider on a higher level than anyone could imagine. It is understandable.

    As Miss S said ... it's normal because you're having something between your legs providing vibration.

    This is quite normal for that age range. Young men at that age often find themselves getting erect just from a car ride.

    When my older nephew hit that age range my mom started buying him longer shirts so that he could cover up and not be embarrassed about what was happening to his body

    It's normal because of the fact of stimulation. When you're riding a horse, your genitals are rubbing and bouncing against your clothes and the horse and well, that can result in unwanted sexual arousal.

    It doesn't contribute towards your being gay or anything else really. If you went and took a pillow and started to simulate riding a horse on it, you would get aroused.
