Is it normal to give items a name

I give many things i own names and call them by there name when speaking of them, i have 3 posters in witch have the name paul and the other jerry, my bedroom lamp also has a name. i also talk to them not truly talk but i say hello and good bye as i leave and enter the room. IIN?
