Is it normal to go on holiday on your own?

I really want to go on holiday abroad in Europe, but none of my friends have any money to go. So I was thinking of just going myself. Does it sound a bit crazy? I don't think I'd tell anyone that that is what I am doing, because its a bit embarrassing. I'm 27 and don't have a partner or whatever

Aren't there any sites around where you can search for a travel buddy? I know they exist, so that might be an option.

And of course you can always go on holiday alone, nothing wrong with that. My grandmother passed away when I was a child, but my grandfather still goes on holiday every year by himself.

just do it, a friend of mine is your age and travels europe by himself all the time. He simply finds cheap flights and check into hostels where he usually actually meets other travelers to share the experience. He has the most amazing stories

Go! My friend just took off to Spain by herself and she is having a great time. Don't let the fear of what others will say hold you back.

For me it depends on the type of holiday. If it's just relaxing then I would be fine alone. But if it's partying etc then I think I would be comfortable with atleast one friend. But thats coz im that type of person and I need a wing man or a group to boost me reeli. You sound to be different and strong willed. So I think you would be fine alone because your strong personality is enough to support you.

Would you rather sit at home doing nothing? I say, do it.
