Is it normal to go online just looking at shoes?

I have a friend who goes likes to just go online and look for shoes. He has bought tons of pairs and that's one reason why his money supply is dwindling... But it's not like that's all he does all day! I think it's cool he has a little shoe collecting hobby and all, but could he take it too far? I'm worried..
