Is it normal to go to events alone?

I love going to events like concerts or gallery openings, but very rarely do I go with another person. Typically, I plan to go and not tell anyone that I'm going and not tell anyone afterwards until I remember it randomly in conversation. I am very used to doing things alone and not needing/expecting someone else (including close friends) to go with me. I'm pretty much a person who will disappear for a few hours to have a random adventure and return without a word about what I've been doing.
This might have something to do with growing up without needing to answer to/hang out with siblings (already in their 20s when I was 12) and having parents that worked all the time. So if I wanted to say go to the museum or did a bit of grocery shopping, noone said anything. I'm also really big on being an individual, and can find a way to relate to almost anyone. So, anywhere I go, I can find someone to talk to whilst I am there.
Am I weird?

I don't think it's weird. I like the idea of not depending on another person to do activities. However if you get into a relationship, that may lead to problems.

Doing chores like grocery shopping yea but not concerts and stuff. I'd feel really awkward doing stuff like that alone.
