Is it normal to hate beauty/cuteness this much?

You raise a pretty good point, although the last paragraph is somewhat alarming.

You had me until the last paragraph. It's normal to dislike societies beauty worship, but to go so far as to want to disfigure beautiful people and animals makes me think you need serious therapy. That's definitely not normal.

Hyperbole much? I've never known anyone who mistreated people or any animals just because they were ugly, or anyone who correlates beauty with being a good person. Maybe I'm just being naive, but I have a hard time believing you're not exaggerating.

I really like cute stuff, especially if it's japanese. I agree that we as humans put too much emphasis on beauty, often times ignoring people who are truly beautiful or cute, just because they don't look like barbie dolls. That last paragraph was pretty eff'd up though. Even if you didn't mean disfigure in the traditional sense of the word.

I had a ginger tabby that I rescued as kitten who had been in a terrible accident before I found him under a bush. As a result of the accident he had to his left leg amputated, his tail drooped at an angle due to to nerve damage, his jaw was a little crooked and he had a cataract in his left eye but he was super cute and beautiful to me! He was my best friend.

People are hopelessly shallow, & that`s just one of the reasons that I dislike people as much as I do. I resent the way they praise someone for being attractive, as though it`s an achievement.

Cute makes me feel sad. I am not cute, although some have called me that. I see how those who are viewed as beautiful by society are treated, and how it varies from the way I am treated.

I try to be the best person I can be, yet it does not matter unless I am hot. Sadly, if I bought that with plastic surgery everything would change for me.

Beauty has always been praised; the Ancient Greeks were really big in enjoying things that were pretty. It just seems like a recent idea because people blow their life savings in order to achieve a desired look, like you said. I agree with you in that this society (at least America anyways) is obsessed with it. By the way that is something that's always bugged me about Disney, the villains are all ugly, yet the protagonists are all gorgeous; I swear I would love to see a good looking person be the villian just cause then people would have a hard time getting the message. Well actually we kind of already have that with the Avenger, since everyone thinks Loki is attractive. But anyways I mean like teach kids that just because a person isn't attractive doesn't mean that they're bad.

Anyways, I think you're going too far with that last statement. If you dislike beauty then just stop caring what people think of you and live your life the way you want. But try to understand that to some people being attractive is a big deal, and probably something that they've been striving for. So don't ridicule them initially for that, get to know them first. I don't think you should hate someone because they're beautiful.
