Is it normal to hate being licked by a cat?

I have two loving cats. I was having a date with this guy (our 4th date), decided to take him to my place and let him meet my cats. We sat down for a movie, and one of my cats jumped on his lap and curled up. He seemed uncomfortable with it... but he reached down and petted her, and she licked his hand and he yanked his hand back and put them above his head so she couldn't lick him. Is he crazy, or is this normal?

    Well if he was comfortable with the cat curling up on his lap then it is rather strange that he didn't like the cat licking his hand. Maybe it just felt weird to him or he thought it was dirty but I wouldn't think anything of it. My cat licks me sometimes and it's a good feeling.

    cats are heathens! naw, some people are just repulsed by some animals i guess. i have a friend who has a completely irrational fear of dogs, even the cute loving ones.
