Is it normal to hate it when people clap at the tv?

If it's a sports thing then I understand because you're in the moment and you're intoxicated by the sport. But if it's at the end of a movie/TV show it's plain stupid.

I'm just annoyed by it because it doesn't add anything to whatever you're watching, disrupts the program, and prevents you from hearing anything else that might be happening
