Is it normal to hate the smell of coins?

Ever since I can remember I've hated coins, especially the smell they leave behind.

I also hate brass and the smell it leaves behind.

If I must touch coins, I like to immediately wash or disenfect my hands.

Is this normal?

I get where you coming with this. I don't like the smell of old, dirty or dusty coins. I will feel like washing my hands if they start to grimy. The metallic smell reminds me of blood and Iron. When it comes to currencies and their smells I prefer paper money especially, if they were freshly made. Newer bills are taut and have a easily stacked straightness to them.

I’ve hated the smell of coins and other metal objects my whole life, but that smell is not coming from the coin itself, it’s produced by your body. That smell is just the oil on your skin breaking down from touching the coins or elements and it’s the result from that.

Generally if they are really old coins the smell comes from being touched by thousands of sweaty fingers.
