Is it normal to hate those who leave shopping carts in the parkin lot?

I live in the laziest town in America. The only store in town for groceries or basic needs is our Wal-Mart. The parking lot is huge with over a dozen shopping cart return racks placed evenly over the parking lot. Regardless of where you park, you never have to walk more than 50 feet to a cart return rack.
That doesn't matter in this town. People leave their carts by there trunk and then leave, thus denying the spot for the next person. Sometimes the carts are left in the middle of a parking space 5 feet from the cart rack. I feel this is the ultimate combination of laziness, rudeness and inconsideration for others. What are your thoughts?

This is why in Germany, you need to put a coin in to take a cart. I rarely find carts, but when I do, I bring them back and help myself to one, or two Euros XD

Hah, we need to use coins over here in Canada too. To be honest, I sometimes leave my cart, with the coin inside, and justify it by thinking that the person who has to return it for me would get a free $1.

First off I am not defending anyone who does this but in places like the walmart parking lot its sometimes difficult to find where the cart sections are located. Most places however have many of them are they are very noticeable.

They don't do that at the store I go to. More often than not, they insist that staff escort you to your car. It is very rare they'll let you take your own cart to your car. It's a very backwards system because a large part of the staff gets pulled away from their jobs just to come carry your bags to the car. I also find it to be paranoia-ish. It's like they think their customers are going to steal the carts.

The parking lots for Walmart, and other commercial stores like it, tend to be ridiculously large. I think this layout provides more layaway for laziness.

It's annoying but there's not much one can do about it. Where I live most of the stores require a 25 cent deposit for the carts. It does nothing to stop the shoppers from lazily leaving the carts all over.

Aldi's fixed this problem with a 25 cent deposit to unlock the cart.

I've never been to a Wal-Mart where this is not a problem.

For all kinds of reasons that I won't post on here, I've always made it a point NOT to shop at Wal*Mart, but I've never been to a single shopping place, period...where it's not a problem. I hate people who are so inconsiderate that they won't put their shopping carts in the designated areas in the parking lots that are for shopping carts when they're not being used. The people who work in the store come and put them back in the store when the store closes.

It does affect me personally, because it creates a hazard for cars that're driving in and out of the store parking lot. Don't kid yourselves into thinking that it doesn't.

What town in which do you live and is there a trailer park nearby?

Why do you care what other people do with their shopping carts so much?
This borders on insanity; worry about how YOU act in life and let others worry about their actions, which, if they don't affect you, should be none of your concern.

Ah, but captain, it is very annoying when you are about to pull into a parking space and there is cart in the middle so you have to get out and move it or find another space to park. Also, due to wind, I have had several carts slam into my car because they were just rolling around freely.

Some of these stores have the cart boys to go around collecting them, but they don't always do their job since a lot of them are teenagers who don't want to be there in the first place.

Drive up so the bumper of your car makes contact with the cart. Slowly move your car forward to push the cart out of the way.

Not a good idea, NurseDiesel. There's no telling what kind of damage could/would result to your car if you did that.

I have done that lots of times but sometimes I can't. Depends on what I'm driving, cart position, surrounding obstacles, whether or not the lot is level, wind speed variables, wet/dry conditions, season, mindset/mood, etc...
