Is it normal to have a brand new pc videogame that crashes at first?

I just bought Grand Theft Auto:San andreas off of steam. But i have a problem. It keeps on crashing and all. Also in SA MultiPlayer,it's HORRIBLE. I have been waiting to find this game for PC. Can someone nice enough help me? P.S: I also downgraded the game too.

    this must be your first pc game. good luck, no one will help you and you just got robbed. everyone knows computers are flawless, and yes buy a mac instead

    The tf2 I got off from steam crashed. And my computer could handle skyrim! >_>
