Is it normal to have a delayed period following loss of virginity?

I did it for the first time on the 11th of last month. We used protection by the way. My last menstrual cycle ended on the 1st/2nd of that month. (ie: 10 days b4 this happened). Currently my period is approx 6/7 days late and i'm startin to worry even though I took a preg test 5 days ago and it was negative and we used protection. i've always been overly paranoid about my well being in general but is it normal for your period to be few days late following sex?

    stress will delay periods. Extreme stress, like a pregnancy scare, can push it back several days.

    Yeah this happened to me, ended up totally missing my period but wasn't pregnant, you're bound to be paranoid but it's totally normal :)
    You can go see a doctor or to your local family planning clinic, just to put your mind at ease :)

    Sometimes it takes a little time before the tests pick it up. I recommend just going to a doctor. Just to make sure.

      I agree that you should go to the doctor, that might mean your pregnant thats the first sign

    My girlfriend and I lost our virginities together, I was wearing a condom but she wasn't on birth control. We had sex and she bleed and was in pain. I pulled out and came in the condom cause I didn't want to risk it at all. But she was meant to have her period 4 days ago and is worried and streesed that she might be pregnant because she's been late before but never this late. She's doing a pregnancy test today. I was wondering if anyone has advice or clarification to the situation. Thank you

    Ya I lost my virginity a few months ago and freaked out cuz I was 11 days late and took two pregnancy tests! Luckly they wer negitive and from so much stress and all between me and my boyfriend since were still in our teens we were extremely worried . Was so happy to get my period lol. So don't sweat it to much, stress can delay it. Good luck Hun, stay safe!:)

    when I lost my virginity I skipped my period for two months. This was years ago and I still skip a month every once in a while.. this is perfectly normal.

    I was stressed after my first time (used a condom), and my period was two months late because the later it got the more worried and stressed it was.

    Don't worry, it's very common for this to happen. If you are truly concerned, you should see a doctor :)
