Is it normal to have a fear of picking up animals?

I have no clue where this fear came from, I've never had a bad experience of picking up animals. I'm also completely fine with picking up smaller animals (like hamsters and guinea pigs). I know it's completely irrational but I'm just desperate for answers.

(Edit: I know this isn't normal but I just need advice rip)

sounds normal to me, perhaps u think they will bite u, or maybe u will inadvertently injure them.

You've gotta try picking up a cat. It's so cozy and warm, and rewarding! 😺

I'm a bit scared to pick up hamsters because they're freaking tiny, even with my smallass hands I feel like i'm gonna squish them. Plus the smaller the animal, the bitchier it is imo.

Holding animals is one of my favorite things! I'll pick most of them up, even the larger ones - especially dogs! You're missing out!!!

sometimes i pick him up & put him on my lap while hes captive on his back and sayin 'lapdog lapdog!'

he dont like it but tolerates it and runs away now if i say lapdog while hes within reach
