Is it normal to have a fear of spending money?

I have a lot of money in the bank. I don't ever go shopping and never treat myself to dinner or go out because I HATE SPENDING MONEY! I save money so much until I don't spoil myself at all. I need things (clothes, shoes, earrings, eyebrow arch) but don't get it because of my hatred towards spending money. When people buy things for me, I always ask how much it was and feel bad about it. Is this normal?

i can relate as well. i think anyone who is frugal hates to spend money. but, you may want to think of investing some of your money, since you have a lot of it. an investment may yield even more money. sometimes when we fear spending or loosing money, we are telling our Being that we dont like money because it brings us stress and fear. if you find a good investment to put some of the money into and invest with joy, this may help to combat the hatred of spending money. i hope this helps.

You probably have a lot of money in the bank because you hate spending.

That's fine. As long as you're not neglecting any bills or your own happiness, then you handle your finances the way you see fit.

What's the point of having money if you're not gonna spend it I'm not saying you should go crazy but get your brows done get a mani and pedi pamper yourself a bit you only live once you remind of a story I read about a rich man that extremely miserly his clothes had huge holes in it because he was so cheap anyways every night before he goes to bed he would count his money it was gold in the story as he was counting it one night a burglar was passing by he hid in the bushes and watch the miser hide his gold he broke into the house and stole it all the miser never got a penny back I guess the moral of the story is don't be too frugal ! ( Its a long story left out a few details but that's the gist of it)

Hi threadstarter. First of all, does this condition affect your daily life? If it does, its best to start telling yourself that you should identify and carry out with spending your money for your daily 'needs'. Notice I used the word need and not want. If I may offer a lol more advice, it might be helpful to sit down and attempt to identify the source/cause of this.
