Is it normal to have a religion, but disliking it's current structure?

So, i'm a catholic and i love the catholic belief and i'm very devoted to it, but i dont really like many many things about the catholic church, like some priests/pope having so much money and all the hipocrecy that i see (i'm like that too sometimes but i hate it) so, my religion is strongly catholic, but i chose to live with the plhilosophy of taoism because i find that vision of how to live your life very unselfish and nice. So: is it normal to love my religion, but to dislike (i don't hate) the people who run it and participate in it with hipocrecy and/or falseness?

That being said, somethings, such as common sense morals, dont need to come from a book or from some made up god. I am a very morally driven person. But i dont believe in god. I do what is right because i truly believe it and that it is the way i would also like to be treated. Not because i think i might go to some theme park in the sky if i do, or to hell if i dont.

You are correct, morals don't need to come from the Bible. But that doesn't mean that the Bible doesn't have absolutely everything you need to know on how to live a better life as a better person, and how to get through problems that you may face. (And by better person, I don't mean someone who doesn't have sex or curse, and follows all the rules. I mean how to be a good-hearted person. How to forgive people. How to not judge people. How to always see the good in people etc.
I didn't even need the bible to know how to be a good-hearted person, but it is still in there, and I still get some good advice when I am having my doubts of being the bigger man in some cases.

Religion is man-made. If you don't like those religious leaders etc then you don't like the religion. Why not just leave it? It's all just a bunch of crap and lies anyway.

Yur life, your rules. Faith is a very personal thing, my own views are a bit of a mix between Christianity and a few pointers from other religions Seeing as most religions seek peace and good heartedness (Fighting your animal nature) its not that odd.

Lol I recall this one time our preacher said id asked him some of the most difficult questions hed ever heard from a high school age church member

Why don't you just make a christian religion? Everything Christian broke off for this reason. It started with kind henry.

Basically I believe that people spirituality is theirs to discover, and often be a mix and match of multiple religions and idealogies.

I believe in god and i go to church (not now cos i live in a country where they speak another lanuage so its all gibberish to me, sadly) but close minded attitudes and hipocrecy blah blah all those negative things make me feel like i dont want to be a part of the herd. More like a black sheep that ikes to hang around! And we shouldn't shun or insult non believers, we should love them amd not judge them by their beliefs! (off topic but yeah, i try to love everyone)

I think it's the same with pretty much any other religion as well: you can be as devoted as you wish, but if you are happy with it's structure and the use mankind makes of that belief, then you are not being honest with yourself.

You don't have to be a member of a particular religion to believe the same things they do. I know plenty of Catholics who are this same way (I went to a Catholic high school and have a large extended family of all Catholics so I know a fair few).

The CC seems to me to be beyond repair at this point with corruption all the way at the top and no way to have it removed as authority is hierarchical.

As for whether or not this is normal, I like to think so. Quite a bit of today's society is at least marginally about individuality (even if the majority seems to only follow a few individuals), which leads people to question authority (government, churches, traditional ways of thinking) and results in people in your situation and unfortunately hipsters as well.

By the way, I would encourage you to reconsider your dislike of the authority members of the CC. Hate seems much more appropriate given some of their actions in Africa with AIDS, globally with child molestation and their extreme stances on abortion, and the massive hypocrisy they're guilty of on a grand scale (the whole golden palaces thing).

I was raised Catholic but I really don't agree with the way the Church is being run. Like so many other institutions, it is corrupt from the ground up. Every time I check the news there is another scandal breaking out, and it makes me really ashamed to call myself Catholic. I have tried to become an atheist or at least agnostic, but those ways of thinking just feel wrong to me and don't make much sense to me. I don't want to become a Protestant either, because even though I don't like the scandals in the Church, I still love the way the services are run and I follow the beliefs. So I will stay a reluctant Catholic.

Very much so. Too many people abuse the bible, misinterpret it, and take things out of context. And there are too many bad-hearted people who call themselves "Christians."
And there is a reason there was a Protestant Reformation to detach themselves from everything they disliked about the Catholic church.

It is a actually not very common to think the way you do. Most people just follow the heard and dont think critically. They will just go along with all the bad things because they want to take the path of least resistance. The catholic church is and has always been a gang of corrupt and hypocritical aholes. Religion in general is nothing but a scam, but the catholics do it best, right behind them is the muslims. God is nothing but a man made fantasy to make people feel better about the world we live in. Religion uses this further and basically takes advantage of weak minded people, turning them into minions to carry out an idea. Dont follow the same old crap humans have been sucked into for the entirety of our existence. Think for yourself
