Is it normal to have a security panel with a plug on it?

In my house I have 2 security panels, one is normal and in the hall, the other is in my bedroom, has a plug attached to it that powers it (I can tell because I leave it unplugged and the power stays off) and when plugged in has the Tamper, Unset and Power lights all on. I've only moved in recently and I've only ever plugged it in for like 3 seconds because I didn't want alarms going off.

Also it's a Veritas 8

If there wasn't a user manual in the place when you moved in, do an online search for one.

It would be very strange if the alarm sounded when you plugged the keypad in, since normally you have to enter a code to set the alarm. If you don't have the activation/deactivation code for the system, it's useless.

When I saw "plug" in the query header, I immediately thought of you.

I think I need to take another break from this place.

Lol. Whenever I see a post about something I know nothing about I think of something sex related. Good to know I'm not the only one I guess. And please don't take a break from this place, your one of the best people on here!
