Is it normal to have a shitty 30th birthday ?

This year on my 30th Birthday I celebrated my Birthday like any other Birthday but it actually was worse , the only good thing in it was the cake!, even my family didn’t make a big 30 Birthday , like Bring me a cake that is written on it 30 or Bring an expensive gift /s , they brought me a normal chocolate cake (but it was a VERY GOOD CAKE)that is written on it happy birthday then my name and two small candels I say family since I don’t have friends , most are AQUAINTENCES , who told me Happy birthday on facebook ), actually I forgot that one of my Gifts from my parents would be a laptop that I still didn’t receive the other is a massage coupon , anyways how I spent my 30th birthday ?! , well I woke up and it was raining and very cloudy and foggy , there was no sun , my family told me happy birthday , each individual alone , then I went to the office ( I work with my sister )anyways , she gave me coffee with one small carrot cake cupcakes that have cream cheese on top (my favorite) then , when I came back to the house ( I still live with my parents as in my country a girl can live with her parents until she gets married , no matter how old she is ) anyways mom made lunch , and then I stayed home till it was time to go to dinner (my birthday dinner ) we went there to the restaurant and we were the ONLY people there , then came one guy , anyways the food was good , later on they brought me the cake and took pictures of me and the cake , and my sister gave me my present a massage coupon and my mother told me that the other gift (Laptop) is on the way .My mother told before my birthday came that because it's my 30th birthday so we are gonna celebrate a week instead of a day!..but that didn't happen!! , and one of the days there was a plan to go to the beach , (there is an indoor pool and spa area) anyways we chose a day to go there , the day came and it was raining and cloudy so my dad didn't get excited to go so we didn't go , even though we were gonna stay indoor in the indoor pool and spa area !
Is it normal to not have a BIG and SPECIAL 30th Birthday ?

    Jeeeez you have been an adult for quite some time now, it's time to act like one.. I don't even remember my 30th birthday but it probably went something like this: changing my baby's diapers and making my family dinner.

    Not the same as they use to be huh? I try to do something new each or mot birthdays...one birthday I did that Go Ape Challenge - tons of fun! Who needs birthday cake when you can 'fly' through the trees :D

    You got a birthday cake, a birthday meal, a laptop (which is on the way) and a massage coupon. You were wished happy birthday by your family, and the 'acquaintances' you have at least wish you happy birthday in some way. You have your health, you're allowed to live at home with your parents still (even at 30), you presumably have ample food. What are you whinging about? Be appreciative of what you have! My brother and I probably have less than that on our respective birthdays.

    You can't expect your family after 30 years of your existence to still make a massive deal over your birthday. Do you do lots for them when it's your parents' or sibling's birthdays?

    The solution is to make more friends who will want to celebrate your birthday with you, then actually plan something yourself (a birthday meal specifically with friends or a trip to the cinema or something).

      Just to clarify, you need to get things in perspective and realise that you're not a child anymore - most families don't continue to dote on you until you die, your birthday happens every year, it's up to you to make it special now, not them. They did plenty for you.

    Maybe really really work on making some friends - real friends. People you share your life with and do things with and who will celebrate your milestones and you theirs. Your family sounds pretty terrific but you can't expect them to substitute for friends.

    My patents do not even remember my birthday, but I still love them and appreciate the mere fact that they are in this life with me. So, be happy with what you have!
