Is it normal to have a smile on your face in a fight?

Okay, I went out the other night with my friends and girlfriend, and someone who I knew pushed me and wanted me to fight him, or he said he would hit my friends instead until I fought him.
Being as "Chivalrous" as I am, Im not too fond of fighting, never have been, I enjoyed it to a degree when I done kickboxing for a while. But anyway.

So we went to a well lit park and had a fight, my friends and his all watched as we threw fists. The observers all said after I won albeit with some injuries, that I never stopped smiling when i was fighting, everytime i got hit, I still smiled. Even when i hit him.

Im slightly worried if i have some underlying psycopathic tendancy and enjoy hurting people, I mean i didn't know, I dont want to be some murderer!

Help me!

    It's because you're not scared, therefore you feel amused at the challenge.

    You wouldn't have accepted the fight if you didn't think you would win. Fighting is ridiculous, it has its purpose in self defence and that's about it. You might as well smile. Don't over think it.

    Hmm well I also smile when I'm angry sometimes. I haven't actually been in a fist fight in ages, but I get a sense of calm anger when arguing. I've been told its pretty scary...the look of content on my face. Oh and the eyes...i've got the death stare.

    Whenever I fight people always say I have this crazy smile on my face and whenever I hit the other person I laugh like a crazy person and I end up hurting them really seriously sometimes even though I'm not trying to hurt them... Much. Please help

    Some people smile when they're tense or anxious. It doesn't necessarily have to be a sign of happiness.

      this. i used to compete in martial arts and my biggest issue was that I couldn't stop smiling during a fight. i never realized I was doing it but people would tell me after I needed to be more serious. most of the time it was because I was just nervous about the fight.

    very normal. makes you look unfased by the fight, more manly if you're losing.

    doesn't matter what's on yours or your oponents face it's not nessisarily what they're feeling.

    also plato thought that the origin of laughing and smiling comes from our ancestors baring teeth. he hated comedies and said they were the lowest form of entertainment and did not like to admit it was entertainment even though he did.

    obviously he never watched a reality tv show.

    I'm like that too. When I get into an argument with someone whether its my boyfriend, my mom or my best friend I sometimes smile when they're telling me their side of the story for no reason and its really hard to explain. At least im not the only one.
