Is it normal to have a trained cat?

My pet actually obeys me. When I tell him to come, sit and stay he does it. They even play fetch.

    • Oh well if its peeing everywhere find out why its peeing. There could be a number of reasons its doing this. It might be territorial, it might be the litter box is filthy or it could be in heat. Also how old is it? Since if its under 6 months they have classes I would recommend to you. They help you train cats and make it where the cats are not afraid of people. Whats the cats eviorment, where is it going, and when does it go?

I keep her box as clean as I can, and she's fixed so how can she be in heat? And as for her age I can't be exactly sure. Because I adopted her from a shelter and they said she was seven three years ago. so I guess she's about 10. Its an indoor cat and it goes where my other cat peed. I think I don't know which cat peed where.

        • Well if its not territory she might have a bladder infection. Also cats tend to pee where they smell pee. So either block off that spot or clean it really good so they dont pee there. I would ask the vet to check.

Cats can do it for psychological reasons. Do you often leave her alone? She might have abandonment fear if it happened with her previous owners or due to the shelter itself.

Good kitty! My Siamese does that but I wish he would learn speak and shake hands. He's smarter than a lot of dogs and there's nothing wrong with that.

    • They learned sit by watching us tell the dogs to sit and we gave the dogs a treat. So our cat sat and looked up and cried.

  • I had a cat that talked. He could say my name as well as "hello" and "no"

My cat greets me when I come home, comes when I call him, and sits for me when I give him treats. He has now learned to give "kisses" too!

My cat used to play ball with me. I would roll a little rubber ball to him and he'd roll it back to me.

Cool beans! My Kitty's style of playing fetch has slowed down since he was young. He used to just dash out and now he looks first. He's such a huge blessing in my life and our relationship is closer than ever but it saddens me to see him getting older.
