Is it normal to have an extremely low tolerance for computers?

Okay I was trying to comment on other posts on this site and my computer has been going quite slow. That's when I decided to come up with this. Actually, its going pretty slow now and I hate it with a passion.

I've imagined on numerous occassions me taking a bat and smashing it into tiny pieces or throwing it out the window. Sometimes I'll 'slap' the moniter to get it to work (which actually work sometimes). If I don't do that then I'll threaten it or talk nicely.

I know that might be a bit weird but I can't help it...slow computers/phones/TV's etc. honestly make me quite angry. Am I the only one?

  • Well, be aware that if you keep hitting the poor thing is domestic violence. Try to talk nice to it and be gentle. It's probably traumatized by now. Smh.

  • Well there actually is such a thing as percussive maintenance; there's even a wiki page on it, go check it out.

I bet you have one of those old desktop computers with the tube-type monitors? I understand your pain. I grew up with one of those things and a dial-up connection that was slower than a gimp-legged turtle. Get a new computer with a flat screen monitor and then fulfill your fantasy of smashing the old one.

    • No its not even that...I have a flat mointor and everything. I guess I just downloaded too much crap and its making my PC slower.

Wah! I've got a fast computer with shitty CRT-screen and it's slow as hell because of my hard-drive. Are you using a SSD? I think it could fix it. If it doesn't help complain at Microsoft.

Oh, lol. Apologies for my assumptions then. I still recommend getting a new one, or you could go through your computer's programs and clean out stuff you do not need. You should be careful if doing this though; make sure you do not remove something important.

        • Naah its cool Lool...I've already got rid of some of the useless programs on here. I realised that most of the websites I go on makes my computer slow so I just won't go on them anymore.

You'll be more calm with coffee or bubblegum or something.

If you had any idea how computers worked you would know that hitting the monitor could in no way influence the performance of your computer.

    • I do know that hitting it will only make it worse in the end. However, its just that in the spur of the moment, when it makes me upset, I have the urge to hit it. Sometimes I do give it a light slap and like I mentioned, it does actually work.
