Is it normal to have bruises that won't go away?

I have three bruises on my legs that won't seem to go away. They're not sore but the discoloration is still there. I got the first when I got hit by a car on my bike probably 9 months ago, one from getting punched, and I can't even remember how I got the third one. The one from the car has had a solid lump I can feel over my quad muscle but that has been fading. Is the long term discoloration normal?

What could this be?

Can I please ask you a serious question to follow along with this. Please respond ASAP. So, along as having bruises that won't go away (or in some cases cuts that do not heal quick,) have you seen a change in pattern with urination (maybe going to the bathroom a lot more especially at night), being very very tired, excessive thirst, excessive eating, loosing a lot of weight even though you are eating, numbness in any part of your body, sweating, nausea, head aches, blurred vision, or a fast heart rate. Please let me know.

I just saw this.. the only other symptom I have is numbness. I have a few spots on my scalp and left leg that are numb- most can be attributed to injuries but some just seemed to show up one day. I was recently pretty malnourished and was having episodes of low blood sugar where i would be in a ton of pain, disoriented, staggering around, unable to speak, headache etc, but that all went away when I moved in my with grandma and she gave me regular meals. I don't have healthcare and can't afford a doctor (obviously.. I can't even afford food). So.. yah.

Normal in the fact it happens. Not that it's common. Most likely a protein or iron deficiency. I'd see a provider. -hospital corpsman USN.

It sounds normal enough 2 me. I have these cuts on my hand that looks like a bite, which I've had since I was a kid. I would check with your GP just to be sure though. :-)

It's not abnormal, but it is potentially serious. They are likely hematomas, which can harbor infection, calcify or break apart into blood clots that move on and cause debilitating or deadly issues. See a doc asap.

Not normal at all. If there's a bump with the discoloration it kind of sounds like a blood clot. my grandpa would get them a lot but I'm not a doctor so go get it checked out asap.

That doesn't sound normal, I'd be checking it with my gp if I were you
