Me and my friend kept seeing this person around college who looked a little eccentric and on this we gave him this whole character, a name and a life. We often talk about him, his names Edward and he lives in a huge mansion and has big partys, swinging on chandeliers and such. He's fun to discuss. We draw him a lot too.

John Cleese (monty python's flying circus) developed an entire show based on a hotel manager he met once who was rude to him. He developed this guys whole character based of those few meetings. That show is pretty funny!
This sounds like a pretty fun passtime! As long as you're not actually harrassing the poor guy.

That's how most writers invent charaters, I believe? Maybe ye should write anout him!!!
The only weird part is never actually getting to know the guy for what he is...
My best friend does that too, making up all this bullcrap stuff about her crush's dad. It's hilarious, actually. XD
Totally normal. My boyfriend and his bestfriend do the same thing. I think it's awesome and a talent.
