Is it normal to have large lumps in period blood?

By the way, sorry for grim subject. So, I've never really had heavy periods, they've always been very light, and short lasting, but this particular time I've been extremely heavy, having to change pads about once every hour. But this morning, I was changing and suddenly I got a huge red lump coming out of my vagina. It was about the size of a Brazil nut, and I totally freaked out. Is this normal, or is it unhealthy? Again, sorry for gruesome topic.

    Don't apologize for something that is natural and out of your control. I mean that, people really need to get over bodies and how they operate/look etc.

    With that in mind, I have no advice to give on this subject as I am a guy.

    Consult a fucking doctor, if something about your body seem abnormal and BLEEDS then you're only crazy not to talk to a doctor first...

    Seriously, if you're worried see a gynecologist. It sounds like you shed a very thick uterine lining. Is there any chance you could have been pregnant and not known it; you might have miscarried a tiny embryo?
