It depends. The comments that still show on your public profile have not been deleted by OP or mods, just the ones that only show in your own list of comments but not on "public profile". The ones that do show there but are not on the post had the parent comment deleted by the poster of it. So if you comment on this comment of mine, for instance, and I delete it, your reply will still show on your profile page but not here.
I find it kind of shitty that I'll take the time to post what I think will be some helpful advice and the OP deletes it because it might not be what they want to hear. Why even post if you are only seeking what you want to hear?
There are some posts that are looking for an answer(s) and some that are looking for support for their point of view.
I agree. It is shitty either way.
I posted to this asking what OP stands for (i'm new to this). Why was that removed?
OP is anonymous poster. Which would be more accurate if they called it AP since anonymous is spelled with an A not an O. Welcome to the website.
OP is actually original poster. That's standard internet forum lingo and has nothing to do with IIN or or posting anonymously. Some people prefer to use TC for "thread creator" - same thing.
But yes, on this site it would refer to the person who posted the story.
It's also irritating that the posts don't stay in the order that they are posted (at least on my feed) Makes for following who is responding to whom and what ......difficult at times
Yes, that's a good point actually. It orders the posts by how they've been upvoted or downvoted, but that sometimes disrupts the conversation.
There's also a bug in the site where if an upper level post is deleted, it rethreads the replies incorrectly. The deleted post will just disappear and it will stick the replies in a different post where they don't belong.
When a post is deleted, it shouldn't just disappear, but have a placeholder that says "This post has been deleted by OP" or "This post has been deleted by a moderator".
